Where to go from here…

Well, here goes nothing…I’ve worked in emergency services for all of my adult life. Don’t get me wrong, I love what I do. But, I still have a passion for IT. My ultimate goal is to get into cybersecurity. I’d like to be an ethical hacker and penetration tester. I’m starting from the very bottom. Currently I’m studying for and have scheduled my CompTIA ITF+ exam. Once I successfully complete that, my next step is the CompTIA A+ certification. After that I plan on obtaining my CompTIA Security+ and Network+ certifications and most likely Linux+ as well. I’ve also begun learning how to code. I’ve started with learning python and plan to branch out to another language or two once I get python down. After that I’ll see where my journey takes me. I feel that is a good foundation for me to build on and hopefully move into the hacking world.
